The Campaigns
CHILDREN LIVING IN A REFUGEE CAMP OF WESTERN SAHARA
Children across the World, and especially those from developing countries can be the most incredible toy-makers. Our aim is also to campaign for them, to improve the living conditions of some kids in a refugee camp.
Some of the displayed pictures of the "Play On The Line" book are showing children playing with their home and handmade toys.
Some pictures are about children living and playing in a refugee camp in the harsh Algerian desert of the Western Sahara.
Once more people of different condition of life are giving us a chance to look at the world from a
different perspective, improving our relationship with the Planet and with ourselves.
There are websites providing information and links to build up a new possible educational project. Yet, there are some small and some other bigger actions that everyone can do to improve the living conditions of these children.
Get connected with this issue by searching information on Global Footprints website.

THE HALABJA CHILDREN'S COMMUNITY PROJECT - the ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND
Photographer Tom Carrigan with the support of a bounce of volunteers and professionists in the educatio
nal field lounched the Childen's Community Project in the town of Halabja - a place so sadly famous because of the Saddam's chemical gas attac carryed out in the 1980, which was aiming to wipe out the kurdish population in Iraq.
In agreement with the community representative Nariman Alì the project aim to develop an adventure playgr
ound in a wast land of the town, promoting a children's participation activity of designing and making together the place they wish.
The mayors and the municipality of the town are fully behind the project, providing land and permissions, but money are scarse and the plan is quite ambitious
In fact, the project
wants and with the support of qualified builders and safety officers children will
be in charge to design and build the site with all the play provisions, mostly recycling wasted materials.
If you would like to find out more about the Project visit the website
and or you can download a PDF document about the Report on Living in Halabja with Tom's pictures and an Image copy of a magazine article.
